473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Feb 10 2022 and listed at 9.5%. Served barely chilled.

Pours a hazy golden-amber colour, capped with an inch of puffy, foamy white head that drops off within a few minutes, reduced to a dense collar and filmy cap. It smells of peach juice, mandarin orange, grapefruit and mango, with hints of flowery, resiny hops.

This DIPA didn't impress on the first sip, but I grew to appreciate it over the course of the glass: I'm getting mango, apricot, and canned peaches/orange slices in syrup. Hints of grapefruit pith and floral, herbal hop bitterness at the finish, which is mildly boozy-sweet; lingering tropical fruits and herbal hops into the aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with relatively lively carbonation that remains prickly down to the last few gulps; the mouthfeel is smooth and a little fluffy. Fantastic drinkability given its burly abv, which is itself very well-masked - at least, until you stand up after drinking most of the glass.

Final Grade: 3.94, a B+. Amsterdam's HAZii is a worthy double NEIPA that I cannot complain about too much. While I wouldn't say that anything about this brew really stood out or blew me away, I don't see any major weak points, either. It's got appealing fruity hop flavours, low bitterness and is very easy to toss back. I don't think I'd search high and low for another serving, but I definitely wouldn't discourage other curious BAs from giving it a try.

473 ml can served cold. Thinking this was canned October 24, 2021 given the J2421 coding. Updated for 2021 and a 9.5% behemoth of a DIPA.

Appearance - Hazy rich golden color with lots of hues of orange. A finger plus of white head and good staying power.

Smell - Loads of mango and peach hints of other citrus and booze quotient is muted.

Taste - Similar to the nose, peach and mango are the stars with a bit of orange. Booze is well hidden

Mouthfeel - Full bodied with some light carbonation. Booze is well hidden.

Overall - Very very good DIPA, Excellent mango and orange. Reminds me of Short Hills from Bench but amped up to 11.

L: Hazy translucent orange amber, lots of suspended particles
S: Sweet and fruity mango, peach, tropical fruit
T: Not overly bold fruity citrus hops balanced with toasty bready toffee malts. Mild bitterness, little aftertaste. The fruitiness died out quickly while drinking.
F: Smooth medium body, subtle carbonation, a bit foamy and a bit drying
O: Flavourful and well balanced but maybe a bit mild for double IPA of this strength. Very drinkable, would be easy to get drunk on these.
