473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Mar 18 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours bright and crystal clear, its body a golden-yellow colour blessed by a scant smattering of bubbles, suggesting a lack of carbonation. A quarter-inch of tight creamy white head dissipates in less than sixty seconds, leaving a thin collar that also vanishes within a short time. Not much to look at, but the nose is mostly in the right ballpark - grainy malts, hints of bread and honeyed biscuit, maybe a whisper of grassiness.

It tastes alright - malty throughout, with grainy pilsner malts and bready, biscuity notes, as well as a hint of honey sweetness. Notes of weedy, herbal hops and grassy bitterness crop up towards the finish, but it remains malt-forward into the finish, with lingering suggestions of graininess and apple skin. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that remains lively and crisp well into the course of the glass - it's very drinkable, I can't take that away from it.

Final Grade: 3.59, a B grade. Amsterdam's Helles is far from exceptional, but it's still a halfway decent German-style lager. If you're looking for comparables, I'd say this is a definite step up from Lowenbräu, and about on par with Spaten Helles or Hacker Pschorr Münchner Gold... but all of those beers are considerably cheaper, which matters if you're buying in bulk. I like this beer, and would never turn it down, nor would I discourage other lager-loving BAs from giving it a shot, but the abundance of more affordable helles lagers means I might not return to it for a while.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 4.9% Helles Golden lager from the Amsterdam brewery.
Poured into glass with a 1 finger head that quickly went away leaving almost no lace clear golden color slow carbonation.
Light lager beer seems watered down meaning plain not much flavor or bite to it .
Overall very easy to drink
But just ok .
Cheers

Looks like a glass of apple juice, no head at all, gold in colour with visible bubbles rising up. Corny and metallic on the smell. Plain and grainy on the taste. Not bad, not great
