A vigorous pour yields a dense head. Aroma is clean and rich. This is a truly lipsmacking beer, with tasty hop crackle and buttery maltness expertly balanced. H&N always makes appetizing products. A very successful session beer. While this ESB might be at its most comfortable mellowing in the background, it certainly bears close scrutiny.

Clean, fruity, bitter. Hands down, one of the more complex ESBs you're going to find. Another winner from Hammer and Nail.

Presentation: Burgundy coloured label on a 1pt 6oz bottle. Both brewers are hosted, carrying a barrel of beer using an old pole-n-rope system.
Appearance: Clear and copperish with an impressive head retention that is off-white in colour.
Smell: A good amount of fruit and semi-coarse hop aromas.
Taste: Smooth and slightly grainy with a mild tangy grapefruit hop flavour and puckering bitterness; pungent, but, it complements. A dry pale malt flavour lingers in the aftertaste.
Notes: A great American ESB. Extremely flavour with many complexities, setting this aside from others as one of the best.
