Had on tap at Sticks and Stones last night.Came in a chalice a dull honey color with a thinner white head atop.Aromas of citrus fruit and earthy hops, slight spiced phenols as well.Yeast and citrus fruits up front on the palate with a drying earthiness and slight peppery spice in the finish. No frills but not bad.

On-tap at Flying Saucer served in a Huske Hardware pint glass an oh so slightly hazy orange with a thin diminishing head. Aroma is sweet fruits and a hint of spice. The taste is a nice amount of sweet fruity malts with a nice subtle kick of spice. The beer is fairly light and crisp with decent carbonation. This is a respectable farmhouse ale, but nothing to write home about.

Appearance: Amber-hued body and, as with the Level-Headed Blonde, there's an almost imperceptible haze. Topped by a small, white head.
Smell: Spicy nose of whole grain bread surrounded by fruity, floral notes.
Taste: Slightly bready malts with a caramel and wildflower honey sweetness. Lightly fruity, a bit grapelike. Pinch of earthy spices. Floral hops with a mild bitterness. Touch of alcohol on the drying, spiced fruit finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: A decent enough brew, but I'd much prefer to sit down with a pint of the Kill-A-Man Red or Sledgehammer Stout.

a: served in a monstrous standard pint, the farmhouse is a beautifully colored golden-orange with a thick particulate haze, a thick eggshell head settles to a nice coating
s: highly aromatic with a heavy pale malt sweetness, various spices including coriander and perhaps some dried citrus peel, grassy noble hops
m: body on the full side of medium, low-medium carbonation, certainly quite heavy for the style but that's not much of a problem for me
t: full, honeyed golden malts, herbal spices including coriander, very clearly on the sweet side, bursting with malt flavors, light citrus, pulpy noble hops
d: not certain of the abv, though I'd have to assume somewhere in the 8% area, not bad for the weight, but certainly not at the drinkability level of a more true-to-style farmhouse
a pretty sweet and well spiced farmhouse, and an intriguing beer for sure, but lacking in the delicacy and balance that in my experience is a hallmark of the farmhouse style
enjoyed a few over a close wolfpack loss while home for the holidays, entered from cell-phone notes
