poured from a 12 oz bottle into a stemmed tulip glass
This beer pours black with no visible highlights and about one fingers worth of tan head that quickly recedes leaving behind a small amount of lacing.
The aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, and raspberries, with notes of bourbon. Fairly balanced between the sweet and roasty
The taste is roasted malts and raspberries, with notes of chocolate, bourbon, and honey. Not overly sweet, and no discernable hop presence. I am not a huge fan of raspberry in stouts, but this is done with just enough restraint to be enjoyable. Full bodied and moderately carbonated.
Overall, this is a very nice beer, and the raspberry is not overpowering. While I'm glad I got to try it I will likely not seek it out

Dark opaque pour. Wispy tan head. Wonderful aroma of dark chocolate, leather, and surprisingly can actually smell the raspberries. Delicious beer. OHB is killing it with their barrel aged stouts. Sweeter they other IS. The raspberries and honey balance the bourbon out. Smooth mouthfeel

Picked up a 12 oz bottle from the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville 7-11-22 for $7.50. Bottled 1-26-22; consumed 10-30-22.
Beer poured black with an okay off-white head.
Nose is nice, roasted malts and raspberry are very prevalent with some bourbon in the background.
Taste is a medium roasted malt base mellowed by honey and raspberries. Finishes with a touch of vanilla and leather that balances the sweetness but not all of it.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied and very smooth.
Overall not a bad beer but i think i like the base imperial stout better.

Lindley Park from Olde Hickory Brewery. Received 10/8/20 from @nc41 in BIF 12. Reviewed 11/3/20.
12 oz bottle stamped on front label “BOTTLING DATE 01/23/20”. Stored at home at 42 degrees and served at 57 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 59 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Medium amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Black (SRM 40), as light-absorbing as a black hole. When held to direct light, same.
Head – Tiny (Maximum five mm, aggressive center pour), tan, fizzy, no retention, diminishing to a few isolated bubbles around the rim and no cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4 – Sticky sweet molasses and raspberries, no hops, no yeast. Not very strong. I horned this baby pretty hard but couldn’t pick up a trace of bourbon, vanillin, or tannic acid.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly sweet with raspberry. No hops, no malt, no yeast, no bourbon. No alcohol (10.33 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma but esophageal burning and gastric warming occur. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. For some reason, this reminds me of chocolate-covered cherries with neither chocolate nor cherry flavors.
Palate – 4 – Full, just short of creamy, scattered but lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 Despite what isn’t there, this is still a decent Impy stout. This is one I’d try again on tap or in singles but no cases.

22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 10/31/17, had 12/22/18.
Pours a dark brown, opaque, with a half inch head of darker foam and some spotty cling. Aromas of bourbon, oak, roasted malt, chocolate, some caramel and char, light raspberries- more as it warms. Flavors of bourbon, raspberries, chocolate, malt, cocoa, some vanilla and oak, light caramel. Smooth, a good full body, well carbonated.
Well balanced between the base, berries and bourbon. Great aroma. The bourbon barrels are obvious, but reined in. Has a bit of a lighter feel for the style. Interestingly, the barrel influence seemed to diminish as it warmed.
