Pours amber orange with a 2 fingered off white head- fair retention and some lace. Aroma dominated by berry-like fruits but not the same as in my home brewing experience. Label claims 'natural flavor added'. I am disappointed.

Weak malt flavor and little evidence of hops. Out of balance. Blueberry flavor becomes artificial and candy-like. Good extracts taste better. Light body and near watery mouthfeel. Some dryness in the slightly bitter finish. Disappointing but drinkable.

At least twice a year we brew blueberry beer with fresh picked berries. I am a little critical of this style as a result.

This was an odd one. Raspberry, Pumpkin, but never blueberry. Had to try it. Well, it smelled as advertised, very blueberry, almost like a blueberry pop-tart with no hint of beer anywhere. It poured like a better than average pale ale, dark orange, good head. Mouth is a foamy, better beer experience, like a standard pale ale. Taste is really something different. It starts out sweet, and ends sour. The natural ale in the beer is struggling to come out but is beaten down by the blueberry. There was a stong wheat flavor mixed with the blueberries but somehow, this beer left a flatter taste when it was all said and done.

Unique is all I can say. Not bad, not offensive, a bit surprising but still all the average of other beers. I won't be getting this again preferring fruity beers to mesh with porters rather than standard ales.

I will admit that I am a fan of fruit beers and that I will seek them out to try them. I was eager to try this beer since I have yet to try a blueberry beer.

As one would expect this beer smells like blueberries and tastes somewhat like blueberries. However, the beer does not look like blueberries, it pours a clear golden lager like brew that gives way to a decent head.

Beer is not overly carbonated and that leads one to have more than one. Although I am a fan of this beer, I could not see myself drinking a 6 pack in a session of drinking.

Not a bad beer contract brewed by pioneer brewing, one of their better beers.

Rich, rustic orange; looks exactly like a filtered IPA. The body is perfectly clear and there's a fair amount of carbonation within. Off-white with a slight yellowish tinge, the head begins life at a solid two-fingers. The cap is descending at a snail's pace since it's being rejuvenated from the bottom almost as fast as it's entering the atmosphere. Acceptable lace, no more.

The fact that this beer is brewed with 'wild blueberries and wild blueberry juice' is obvious to anyone with a functioning nose. I do wonder though what 'natural flavor added' entails. No shortage of berry-like, fruity aromas, but it all smells a trifle artificial to me; like Sweet Tarts, or Booberry breakfast cereal. If the flavor follows suit, I'll be disappointed.

Upon tasting, it's evident that the base ale isn't up to snuff (a mistake that too many fruit beers make), which means that no matter how perfect the amount and character of the fruit flavor, the beer as a whole has no chance at greatness; or even goodness. It's undermalted by a considerable degree and lacks proper flavor and mouthfeel as a result. I know that an abundance of hops might get in the way of the fruit flavor, but some hops would have been nice.

As far as the blueberry flavor goes, it isn't anywhere close to perfect in amount or character. For starters, it's much more muted on the palate than it was in the nose. That might not be such a bad thing because, for finishers, it has that same artificialness. It still tastes almost candy-like, but it's a quart low on sugar. Slightly sour and slightly bitter with a finishing dryness. The body is light/borderline watery and is acceptably carbonated.

Blucreek Blueberry Ale commits the two major fruit beer sins--- lack of a sturdy base ale and lack of sufficient and sufficiently natural fruit flavor. Even so, it's still drinkable even if it isn't tremendously enjoyable. Unless you have a hankerin' for a light blueberry ale and nothing else is available, I'd suggest passing this one by.

Clear golden amber with a small off white head that quickly fades, absolutely no lacing either. Sweet blueberry pie aroma, all I can taste are the blueberries. Light body with a watery mouthfeel, finishes sweet, this one has a funny aftertaste just like the herbal ale, I don't want more than one of these either.

Well this is an interesting attempt at something different. This is a deep amber beer, 1 finger head that disapates with a little time. The nose is gorgeous, plump blueberry and not much else. The initial taste is of malt and a certain astrigency followed quickly by a tart/sour note, at the end the blueberry is apparent and that lasts prominently through the aftertaste.

I'm not going to say I particularly dislike this brew, it's a valiant attempt at something different, but in the end it falls fairly flat, the blueberry flavor just doesn't work with the rest of the components of the brew leaving it tasting disjointed.

I wouldn't go seeking this one out again, but it's not horrid and was at least interesting. One was enough.

Appearance- deep reddish hue
Smell- totally incredible scent of blueberry pie. this is really the beers saving grace
Taste- not too much of a taste, no hops to speech of, some blueberry flavor dominates
Mouthfeel- meh, nothing special
Drinkability- pretty easy to drink

The color is a dark amber. Head doesn't stick around very long, just round the sides. Faint blueberries in the nose. The tast it a little malty upfront, light bitterness, blueberry finish. The blueberry is realy pretty subtle, which I prefer to some of the overpowering fruit that comes through in some beers.

Pours a murky brownish amber in color with no head. Very intriguing blueberry aroma. Mouthfeel is thin. Blueberry flavor isn't as dominant as the nose seems to indicate. Initial flavor is uninspiring. Fruity maltiness with some undesired bitterness. Very little tartness. Berry flavor is washed out and nearly non-existent until the finish, where it comes back and reminds you that this was suppose to be a blueberry ale. Not that it has to be dominant, which is isn't, but this is just blander than it should be.

poured an amber brown color. Head was non existent after the first three seconds. No lacing. smell was sweet and tart, the blueberries in your face. Taste was a little grainy. more malty than bitter. the aftertaste is where the berry kicked in again. finish was dry. Maybe a littel bit of that stale, cardboard taste. (how much cardboard have i actually eaten?) I think i got an old bottle. A fresh one may very well up my opinion of this beer. Not a bad beer. Its something different and i appreciate that.

Swampy golden-brown with a ring or two of white lacing.
Blueberry nose. It's nearly exclusive, aside for a bits of grain and solvent notes on stronger inhales.
For such a bright blueberry aroma, very little transitions over to the flavor. It's here, for sure, with a candied sweetness and gentle pulpy tartness. But mostly, this is just yeasty and bland. Hardly any malt sturucture to speak of, and no hops at all. Traces of vinegar around the finish.
As it warms, blueberry comes out more and more. At this point, it hardly matters.
Mouthfeel is washed out, thin and watery. Carbonation settles out after a minute or two.
Not so special. It hardly seems like a finished product.

appearance: Pours a dark somewhat cloudy amber with little to no head. I tried to get one on there but even with a tall pour it just wasn't happening.

smell: Smells kinda sugary, bready, and blue berry like. Close to a blueberry muffin.

taste and mouthfeel: Weak. Something on the order of watery blue berry juice. Thin, not many flavors coming out, and very little carbonation even.

notes: I'll just eat a blueberry muffin next time. Not near enough flavor and mouthfeel to make me want another glass or ever buy it again.

Amber with some haze, quite a bit of suspension, but virtually no head. In terms of smell, the most balanced fruit beer to date--not overly sweet and with a detectable malt base. Taste is decidedly ho-hum, though. Blueberry is detectable but tastes neither distinct not natural. Even basic grains are hard to discern. A watery quality permeates both the flavor and the mouthfeel. This one goes down easily, but why bother? This tastes as much like fruit-spiked sparkling water as it does beer.

Pours out a pale organge and sits an orange-brown in the glass. Little to no head here, and a clean slate on the surface.

Smells of a rediculous amount of blueberries, like the ones that you get in your packaged oatmeal or cereal; a bit starchy and sugared up. Nice bready aromas float around....mmm..blueberry-nut bread. I want to eat this beer.

Tastes of washed out blueberries, and a good load of malts. Banana-like hues and an overall estery flavor dominate this beer that's got fruit all over. It's a decent tasting beer, but overall, it's a bit watered-down in taste.

Smooth and clean tasting, but a bit thin. Easy to drink, but it's dissapointing in flavor. The nose is what really wins with this beer.

I bought this beer because of all the ones I saw in the aisle, I was intrigued by the name and label. I'd never had a blueberry beer before so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but hoped it had some reminiscent qualities that would make me think of blueberries. The quality I most admired about this beer was the aroma. It strongly smelled of blueberries, which i was very pleased to discover. After smelling the beer i was hoping the blueberry taste would be as strong. While it wasn't as intense it did have a nice blueberry flavor and an overall taste that I found to be quite enjoyable. It also felt smooth on the palate, however, I'm not sure I would want to drink more than a couple of these at one sitting. I would love to try this one out of a tap if I ever got the chance! Would definitly buy again!

Amber color, deep and clearish appearance overall. Head is dull and minimal, and the lacing is very scant, slight and incomplete rings. The smell is powerfully blueberry/huckleberry, but ringing somewhat artificial. The taste follows suite here, much too much sweetener accompanies the fruit and it wanders into pie filling in a can flavor aspects. No sense of natural astringency. In contrast to Leinie's Berry Weiss, this has a tiny amount of carbonation and comes off Gatorade in mouthfeel at the finish. Can't say this was a winner.

I'm leaning toward the negative side on this review. Pours an almost nonexistent head on an amberish body with a slight blue tinge. Has a light ale taste, but the blueberries taste like syrup, or more precisely, cough syrup, with a "processed" aspect. I've got other bottles, so I'll try it again, but this just didn't sit right with me. Beer should make you feel happy.

There's no denying that this is a blueberry beer. Quite intense flavor of blueberry. No head or lacing which hurt this beer's appearance and drinkability. The flavor was actually quite good. It was still enough beer taste not to be called a wine cooler but definite blueberry also. Reminded me of a blueberry muffin with the sweetness mixed with some breadiness. Then the blueberries took over and were simply tarty in taste without the sweetness. It was good for a change from the usual but I couldn't drink it too often.
