Swing Span from Granville Island Vancouver British Columbia

The look of it: Amber color. Very clear. Light carbonation. With half of finger of head.

The smell of it; Remind me of the IPA tyoe of beer. It have some caramel and a touch of citrus

The taste of it: Feels like the brother of the IPA. The caramel taste is still there but u have on the after taste some citrus and some apple but very light

So overall would I recommend it ? Absolutely yes ! This is a beer that you can enjoy during winter, spring, summer and autumn. Give it a try you won t be disappointed !

Enjoyed on tap with a plate of drunken mussels at a local restaurant. This is a nice surprise from Granville. The hop presence is subtle but just enough. I enjoy the malt, toffee and saltine flavors. Definitely worth a return visit!

This Beer should be served with a bible... for it's the closest to God I've ever felt.

Bitter like an IPA but with the added infusion of Mosaic hops to provide that Grapefruit/ citrus flavoured twist at the end; there's certainly enough hop in your step to make you feel like you could walk on water by the end of it (all though- id advise against this!!).

All I can say is Hallelujah and praise be to the Lambourne!!

16oz glass at Beer Revolution Edmonton. Part of GIB's 'Under the Bridge' series, apparently.

This beer appears a clear, medium brassy amber hue, with one finger of fizzy and loosely foamy dirty white head, which leaves some nice broadly spaced webbed lace around the glass as things hastily slip away.

It smells of crackery caramel malt, sugary bread, muddled, yet sharp citrus rind, and a soft leafy, weedy hoppiness. The taste is fairly sweet, somewhat nougaty caramel malt, hard toffee, wet raisins, mild citrus cream, and more rather peppy and bitter leafy, earthy hops. Simple, but agreeably so.

The carbonation is low-key frizzy, and gently applied throughout, the body on the lee side of medium weight, and plainly smooth - nothing really else can be said about it. Things finish off-dry, the caramel malt deflating a bit, with the generic hop bitterness holding tight - literally and figuratively.

A pleasant enough PACNW amber ale, though, as expected, any hoppy extremities are mostly lopped off, leaving an echo of the something good that could have been. The low ABV is not noticeable as such, which would make this a more or less endearing sessioner, should the tap options be of that particular ilk, as they are commonly wont to be across this land of ours.
