On tap in Aarhus.
Clear golden body with a medium white head, mostly diminishing with virtually no lacing.
Light malty aroma (grain) with some hoppy notes (herbal).
Quite balanced bitter-sweet flavour, probably too sweet for a pilsener.
Light body with a watery texture; soft carbonation; light metallic feeling in the finish.

July 2004: 380 ml green plastic bottle, in Denmark. Typical average Danish industrial lager, but this one allegedly has no adjuncts. Drinkable. There’s really not much more to add.

I agree with whoever styled this as a Euro Pale Lager. Pilsners have more hops and usually more bubbles.
Having said really nice things about Royal Unibrew in my previous review, I am more restrained here.
I don't know what this recipe was like before Royal bought it and did the re-branding.
But I will say this Royal Pils is not particularly well crafted. It could be like many a Euro Pale, a rubric in which it still is hard to differentiate based on quality.

I give Royal's Pils average ratings. Except the Overall Hugs are higher as I still like what Royal Unibrew is doing in the Big Picture for sustainability.

enjoyed somewhere on the jutland peninsula while on a camping trip, pretty poor beer, watery and weak, nothing noteworthy at all about it, but not terrible.
