Mørk Jule Ale is an ale inspired by the English beer type ESB - extra special bitter. We have used no less than seven carefully selected malts and five types of hops, which gives the beer a great fullness of flavor.
As an extra, we have dry-hopped the beer with three of the hops, which contributes a fruity and aromatic kick - it is only Christmas once a year. The beer's malty profile and moderately bitter profile make it particularly suitable for the rich food during the Christmas season.

Copenhagen 22/12 2020. 50 cl bottle from Føtex, Frederikssundsvej, Kbh. NV. Strange label madeout to look like a stitched Christmas tableau with some wrenches, electric guitars and superbikes thrown in for good measure.
Pours clear amber with a big, bubbly, off-white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing,
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor mingling with tart notes. Odor of dark, sweet fruits, caramel, toffee and alcohol. mingling with tart sour fruit. Citrus and tart berries.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry and a bit harsh.
Solid but not especially elegant ESB.
