Malthe Conrad Lottrup (1815-1870) is a typical example of an enterprising businessman from the 19th century, whose life's work lives on. In parallel with Schiøtz in Odense, Lottrup threw himself enthusiastically into brewing beer. Together with the pharmacists Aagaard and Redelin, Lottrup established the Bavarian beer brewery Ceres of Aarhus in 1856.

Copenhagen 10/5 2015. 50 cl bottle from Netto. Black label with a dark green stripe running across with a the name of the beer in white.
Pours clear golden yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles slowly to thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Mild aroma of hops - slightly fruity and perfumed. Peach and citrus fruit.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor follows the nose. Pleasant rather light hoppy bitterness with peach and sour citrus.
Nice beer - but it would not have hurt with a little more bitterness and spunk.
