Maybe I got a bad taster, but I couldn't finish a flight of this. It just didn't taste right to me. I'm hoping it isn't the taste they were going for.

Bottled and purchased from bargain supermarket B&Ms
Pours a golden body with decent enough white head
There's a good whiff of citrus in the aroma
And a good bitter belt in the flavour

355ml bottle, poured into tall tulip.
A: Golden, slight haze, tiny tanned head, no lacing.
S: Citrus, apple, cascade.
T: Applelike sweetness is balanced out by grapefruity bitterness, finish long, wheaty and bitter.
M: Softly carbonated but had a slightly course edge, thick body for the style/strength.
O: Fairly good, more SNPA than American IPA.

A 355ml bottle with a BB of May 2014. Acquired a little while back from Morrisons - a new beer on their shelves. An American IPA for the UK mass-market. The label features one of the cone-heads....
Poured into a straight pint glass. A bright coppery-amber colour with medium carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of resinous hops and sweet caramel malt, with hints of pine, weed, grain, stewed hops and faint yeast. Pretty good.
Tastes of aromatic hops and caramel malt, with a piercing bitter finish. Notes of pine resin, dank weed, caramel, mild grain, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Slightly sweet, with a strident, lingering bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly - hop oils stimulate the tongue. Pleasant carbonation and decent body. Rather astringent; dries the palate. An aftertaste of aromatic pine, bitter stewed hops and caramel.
Not bad at all - certainly for the introductory price I paid. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are big on aromatic pine, sweet caramel and acerbic bitterness. Decent body. It hits the flavour characteristics that one would expect from a standard US-brewed IPA; the result is a beer with a more than passing resemblance to SNPA. Tasty and easy-drinking - I'd be prepared to grab another if the price was right. Worth sampling if you come across it.
