This creamy Milkshake Malt Porter is nostalgic and novel, with a fun malted mouthfeel. Its chocolatey aroma, robust porter flavor, and sweet finish come from a blend of chocolate wheat malt, cocoa, Topaz and Tettnang hops. Time to gather the gang and share.

12 oz bottle into a Becher glass.
L: SRM 39 Pours black with a slightly fizzy light khaki head that recedes to edge foam, very low carbonation, light random spots of lacing.
S: Darkly toasted grains, a hint of smoke, a hint of dark chocolate, caramelized malts.
T: Gently sweet toasted malts, dark cocoa, malted milk balls, lightly floral, distant raisins & dates.
F: Has the weight and feel of 1% milk. Medium-light bodied, smooth, a thin creaminess, gently whipped. The finish is smooth and very gently dry.
O: Very EZ drinking and lightly sweet. Nice tasting and overall fairly light. It is a nicely brewed lactose beer that is good in its style.

12 oz can poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours an opaque dark brown/near black with a rocky tan head. Aroma and flavor feature earthy dark roasted malt, cocoa-dusted dark chocolate truffles, and moderate bitterness. Definitely on the dry (not sweet) end of the spectrum. Mouthfeel is prickly and slightly thin. Overall a tasty chocolate porter!

12 oz. can, some sort of coded information on the bottom. A new one to me from Stevens Point Brewery.

Poured to clear stemless wine snifter.
Body pours deep, dark, and chocolatey. Much darker than I anticipated. Big finger and a half of creamy khaki froth stays awhile and leaves good spotty lacing. Beer looks good.
Soft, sort of subtle aroma: notes of milk chocolate, cream, malted milk balls (Whoppers), perhaps a bit musty & woodsy. Something of an off-putting, almost plasticy sort of aroma pervades the background, making me put on my questioning facial expressions..
Flavor is rich & dark, with tons of dark dried fruits: huge notes of chocolate, raisin, figs, dates. This thing is like a dark bottle of wine or glogg that was left sitting in your basement for too long. Not really getting much milk chocolate, cream, or "whopper" flavor here.
Body is semi-heavy, thick, filling, especially for the low abv. Not particularly easy-drinking stuff. I had decent expectations for this one based on the look alone, but I guess we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Another mediocre at best offering from Stevens Point.

This is a 12oz. bottle poured into the Point pint glass. For starters there was a one finger tan head of froth that has slowly slipped away to a thin cap. This is a dark porter, to dark to observe any bubbles.
The aroma is sweet cocoa malts and slightly nutty. There is just a hint of bitterness that cuts the sweetness very nice.
The feel is milky, creamy, a little fizzy from the carbonation, yet smooth.
This is an easy drinker, several of these went down during this review.

Sweetish chocolaty porter. Light side of medium bodied...body lacks richness and drinks almost like a Leinie Creamy Dark Lager as far as body goes.

It's got a chocolate milk ball like flavor to it without going overboard and getting all cloying. Seems a touch artificial in flavor although apparently chocolate wheat malt was used as well as cocoa.

Decent enough...biggest drawback is the body...not sure I'd buy it again but it's ok.

Nice flavor th

Sixx bought a 6pck of this beer to share with the Chiefs during the Eagle River pond hockey tournament. It poured an opaque dark with thin ecru head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had milk chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with chocolate malt presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Ruby to dark brown pour; fizzy khaki head leaves brief island of retention; solid ring disappears quickly; no lace save a spot here and there. Roast malt and chocolate nose. Taste follows nose; sweet milk chocolate; cocoa. Medium body, zippy medium plus carbonation; silky lactose feel. Overall a tasty cocoa forward Porter with a pleasant malted milk ball aftertaste.

It smelled cheap, it looked cheap and it tasted cheap. Caramelized like cheap Philippino rum. All the mouth feel of Bud Lite. It's from Point Brewery, right up there with the likes of Fox Deluxe. Absolutely putrid.

Nice simple porter. Good chocolate tones in the background. I really enjoy this beer and find it perfect for the fall\ winter season. I will have no problem finish ing the 12 pack.

Can't say I ever had a chocolate porter like this. Almost drinks like a Dark lager with mild bitterness some toffee and finishes with some dry cocoa powder. With a session able ABV I could see myself having a sixer a sitting. Easy going semi sweet and tasty brew!

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of chocolate malt, toffee and caramel. Sweet chocolate, toffee and a subtle bitterness.
