Very reminiscent of Goose Island Honker’s Ale. Loads of Juniper.

Appearance: Light copper-amber in color. Thin ivory head.

Smell: Juniper, some floral hops, wood.

Taste: Ginny, hoppy tang at the end, some earthy wood hints.

Mouthfeel: quite bitter, dry finish. Medium to light body.

Drinkability: Solid. Easy to drink several in one session.

Notes: I drank several pints of this at South Shore over the weekend. My first was total garbage, flavorless with zero finish. There was a great hoppy front and then it just died. Water.

My next samples of the Pale Ale came from a different keg in a different room. They were much better and so I am ignoring the horrible swill I was given the first time around in this review. Still, this inconsistency does not speak well for the brewery.

Great glowing amber copper toned hue with a pencil width high head of off-white ivory foam and leaves small stitching of lace all around the glass. Smell is faint of floral hops and malt a bit estery and woody, but very hard to get any good aroma from this. Taste is lightly hopped and piney bittered, pretty easy to handle and dries with a nice hop twinge that mellows quickly. Medium bodied but getting light with nice drying in the finish. Pretty solid but could offer more spunk and lasting flavors for an EPA.
