Having some beer and food downtown in SA, saw the hype on the website of yard house, so here we are.
Actually I ordered the house lager, which was delicious, but my gf ordered this.
Less than halfway thru, we traded sips, at which point my beer was confiscated, and I got this one, done.
But to my surprise, and despite the fact that I was thirsty and this is a tripel, this beer kicked ass.
Great presentation in the glass, great smooth body, and great taste. A nice Belgiany note but not heavy or cloying, and overall just a great beer.

Pours thick foggy golden with nice white fluffy head. Notes of classic Belgium spice and everything nice. The palate it lingers with a savory Belgium style spice. Really nice home brew partnership from one of my favorite happy hour GoTo place - Yardhouse. Nice Belgium, cheers!

their menu at yard house actually says this is made by van steenberge now, i know some of their house beers have moved around, but i am assuming its the same thing, a blend of several beers including a wit and a tripel, not sure what else, maybe the belgian golden. its flavorful, yeast forward, lower alcohol than some of the others, and objectively well made, even if its somewhat of a curious blend, putting spicy wit elements together with sweeter, richer, tripel aspects, but i think overall this is a success, and its certainly unique. hazy blonde from the tap with an average looking white head but belgian style lacing as it sips down. aroma of cracked pepper, ripe banana, green pear, and white wine, its rather cohesive even though some of the threads of the blend can still be picked out. unfortunately this tastes just a little tired to me, like its been on tap too long, which can be a yard house thing sometimes, and maybe a little rough around the edges when compared with the most refined of belgian ales, but its something different and its a cool one to have on the menu here. not positive if this is silly or steenberge version now, but i suppose its probably close to identical.
