Formerly "Stargazer".
Grapefruit peel, ginger, and coriander add a summer glow to this deftly layered white ale. Best enjoyed while spending nights on the porch listening to crickets chirp.

Purchased as a single can from Ingles for $1.60. Poured into a nonic pint glass.
L - Hazy pale yellow, with a one-finger pale white head. Laces excellently.
S - Strong wheat and coriander. Gunpowder green tea. Sweet aroma.
T - Begins with a flavor matching the nose, then slowly becomes super clove and coriander-heavy. Finish is citrus and sweet, with some floral notes.
F - Medium-bodied, with lots of carbonation. Super refreshing and drinkable.
O - Refreshing afternoon brew! A good all-arounder. I'd definitely recommend it, and I'll be looking for a six pack of the stuff!

Picked up a 12 oz single as part of a mixed sixer from Ingles Spartanburg store cooler 5-18-2021 for $10.98. Canned 2-25-21; consumed 6-14-21.
Beer poured a bright golden with a very nice white head that has some excellent hang time.
Nose is a pleasant combo of ginger and the phenols from the yeast strain.
Taste is okay, a very light malt base that has an overindulgent amount of ginger and coriander that overpower the light touch of citrus. Finishes balanced and spicy.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and very refreshing.
Overall not a bad beer but could lose some of the ginger and coriander.

I'm generally a big fan of Highland's beers, but this one missed the mark. I rarely pick up American witbier, preferring the original Belgians, but I found this one in a mixed pack and was looking forward to it. The smell isn't particularly appetizing - lifting it to the nose, I wanted to put it back down. I persevered and discovered a very ginger-y taste that dissipates quite quickly. I guess that's a good thing in this case though.

I'm guessing I missed this can's prime. But this is the first beer since escaping Chicago's clouds and snow... so many beers are going to taste above average when they are actually below.)
But I am clearly Looking at an unattractive beer. Smells are better with the classic coriander and the grapefruit and ginger offer promise. Taste sort of delivers on that promise, but there is almost a coffee-ish finish that unexpectedly comes at me; not bad, just out of the wit's character (maybe it is too much grapefruit or ginger.) Refreshing, but hard to characterize.
Only my second from Highland, so I went on their website and their story is they are pioneers bringing crafting to southern Appalachia and Asheville . They also seem to be pioneers in the wholistic sustainable brewing methods and give back to the community. Big hugs for that. Too bad they only distribute in the Southeast.

12 ounce can - $2.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, pale yellow body with an inch of white, bubbly suds.
Smell: Well, the added ingredients do show in the aromatics. Heavy in coriander, a bit soapy, there's also the ginger and the tart-scented grapefruit. Plus, don't forget the grainy wheat breakfast cereal note.
Taste: Stargrazer is creamy, wheat-laden with a touch of crisped Totalâ„¢ cereal. Reasonably sweet. Tangy, tart grapefruit presents some citrusy fruitiness (one of the better parts of the beer). But, then its spicing gets a bit awkward, a big spoonful of coriander stew and ever ireful ginger giving some 'heat' which just sits accumulating on the tongue in aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Highland, in trying to jazz up the prototypical wit with some less typical ingredients, lost focus on the delicately spiced quaffable quencher and wound up with perfumy, old lady soap-smelling, spiced wheat soup.
