473 mL can, day 15 of the 2022 Toronto Brewing beer advent calendar. No canning date, but everything else in this box has been quite fresh, so I doubt this is any different. Served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear auburn amber colour, supporting two fingers of fluffy, foamy, off white-tinged head that settles off within five minutes or so. A couple rings of messy lace stick to the glass, with a creamy collar and sudsy cap floating upon the surface. Doughy, bready malts and lightly caramelized sugars on the nose, along with pine, grapefruit and floral, resiny hops.

Balanced flavours for an IPA: malty at the forefront, with toasted grain, brown sugar and dough sharing the limelight with pink grapefruit. The back end is considerably more bitter: piney, floral notes surge forth amidst hints of peppery spice and citrus pith; the aftertaste is both bitter & sweet, with barely discernible alcohol. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation that gives some bite to this brew's otherwise, smooth, slick, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Drinkable for 7%, in that I could feasibly toss back another serving, if I had one.

Final Grade: 3.84, a worthy B+. Every Six Minutes embodies almost all of the traits I've come to associate with classic, old school Ontario IPAs. Described on their website as an "English/North American hybrid", its malt bill is robust when compared to most modern American IPAs, while its hop flavours would be suitable in any West Coast IPA. Big thanks to Toronto Brewing for including this beer, which I am certain I never would have stumbled across otherwise... I mean, Granite is one of the oldest extant craft brewers in the province, and yet this is the first chance I've had to try any of their brews - some beer geek I am!

Pours a beauty dark gold colour with a thick fluffy head. Bitter and hoppy on the smell. Quite bitter and tasty with citrus and grassy notes. Hidden booziness
