1L plastic bottle with screw-top cap. Label has a picture of a black bear to go with the Mano's symbol and also states "Canadian WILD Life Beer".

Clear, dark brown. No head at all. An agressive pour brought out only a few big bubbles which popped within a minute.

Aroma is mild but sweet and highlighted by nice roasty malt scents.

Taste is really plain and one dimensional. Roasted malts from start to finish. Bitter roast at the start then fading towards the finish. Undertones are burnt with hints of bread and dried fruit. Aftertaste is roasted malt bitter.

Mouthfeel is thin and watery and flat. Just like drinking a glass of water.

I'm beginning to think that these guys really don't know what they're doing. Got this beer as part of a Christmas gift from my brother-in-law. What exactly is a Dark Pale Ale anyways? After their Screamin Eagle, I thought maybe it would just be darker and more like a traditional Pale Ale, but when I poured it out I found I was wrong. I don't know what they intend this to be, but it's basically just a bad dark ale. Flat, terrible mouthfeel with a boring straight ahead roasted malt taste. Not my idea of a good beer.
