Collaboration with Hill Farmstead Brewery
Regional beer based on malt, spelt.hops US.
It was developed and manufactured jointly with our American friend Shaun Hill (Hill Farmstead Brewery, Greensboro, Vermont, USA). It continues to be brewed at our facilities in Braugies.
We exchanged our know-how to create this blond with pronounced bitterness with a slight lemon aftertaste.

750ml Bottle
Caged/Corked
Poured into a Trillium glass a very nice hazy golden pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy/foamy two-finger white head, which also leaves some pretty nice creamy sticky lacing behind. The nose is pretty nice, malty, hoppy, yeasty, with some banana/coriander, lemon, grassy, licorice. The taste is very nice, malty, hoppy, yeasty, with some banana, coriander, lemon, grassy, with some licorice. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very tasty brew, true to style. Nice to see it around here.

Pouring from a green 375 ml corked bottle | bottled in April of 2023.
L- Pours a three finger heavily bubbly white head with incredibly high carbonation. Nearly clear at first, with a Champagne-like straw color. As I pour the beer, the yeast ads a veil of haze.
S- Sweet aroma of a pilsner-like grain upfront, sour lemon grass, phenolic and subtly funky banana nut, clove, sweet multi-grain bread. Subtle dankness from the green glass.
T- Sweet grain up front, followed by a much more prominent phenolic banana and clove note, nice green hop presence with a solid bitter bite, subtle stone and pome fruit (pear and apple) at the end with some alcoholic boozeyness.
F- Medium bodied with a drying finish.
O- Very much enjoyed. A wonderful representation of a Belgian Saison. Would love to compare this with a fresh batch.

Brasserie de Blaugies "La Vermontoise"
375 ml green glass bottle, corked & caged.
$10.99 @ Lower Merion Beverage Co., Ardmore, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a mostly clear straw golden body beneath a finger's width of bright white foam that's holding up quite well. The aroma is bright and fresh - how old is this beer? It appears to be 12 years old and I'm not getting any oxidative character at all. Weird, right? I am getting notes of grassy and grainy malt, some minerals, some fruit, and a distant note of some yeasty funkiness. There's also something that reminds me of fresh washed linens, and perhaps that's a floral component, I don't know. The flavor follows with some added citrus (mainly lemon but also berry and orange), and earthiness. This to me is very "saison-ish"! It's dry but with some malt to it, and fruity with citrus (lemon and some non-specific citrus rind), and eventually earthy, mineralish, dry, and bitter in the finish. How strong is it, because it doesn't seem that strong? It's 6% which is not surprising for a saison. There's not a lot of bitterness to it, maybe 20 IBUs, and it's easy drinking and refreshing. I could drink this all day except that at 6% it would eventually hit me and knock me down. In the mouth it's light-medium in body and gently crisp. All in all, I'm kind of blown away by it while at the same time understanding that it's just a kind of Pilsner with modern American hops converted into a saison and most people would taste it and ask "why all the fuss?". Well, it's perfectly balanced for one thing, and then despite it being fairly basic it does cover a lot of bases and actually has some complexity to it.

Copenhagen 9/4 2021. 75 cl corked bottle from Kihoskh, Sdr. Boulevard, Kbh. V. Monk with a horse art with beer barrels on the label.
Pours opaque, hazy, golden yellow with a very big and bubbly white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is fairly intense with a tart odor mingling with yeasty notes and bit of spice. Citrus and lemon. Orange. Humid, musty cellar. Black pepper.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a moderate sweetness followed by a quite strong tart bitterness. Aftertaste is tart. Lingering. Dry finish.
I would lie if I claimed I could taste the spelt - but it is a very nice Saison.

On tap at Lorelei in Pittsburgh.
Pours a really nice golden, lots of foam. Aroma of cloves, bubblegum, and white wine. Overall some nice esters, crisp, lots of spiciness, but not really complex or deeply flavorful. Feel was good, really bright and energetic.
Good and very drinkable but doesn't match the depth of flavor I was expecting. Still, quite tasty.

I just wasn’t super impressed. It’s rough around the edges. Notes of banana and not much else. Carbonation is medium. Color was decent as well.

This saison is one of the best in that classification I’ve ever tasted, competing with the DuPont Saison. Since I lack a sense for smell, I cannot comment on that quality, but the look, taste and feel are all top notch

Warm gold, kinda cloudy (there is a lot of yeast sediment stuck to the sides of the bottle), big, mousse-like white head, excellent retention,
Bubblegum, bananas, orange, grapefruit zest, white pepper, herbal aroma
Zesty! Plenty of the traditional saison fruit and spice, with some citrus zest, as well as a lemon thyme kinda thing. Dry finish
Light bodied, soft, effervescent, nailed it
This is really good

The appearance is wonderful. It isn't too clear and it isn't too cloudy. You can see through the beer without any problems but there is a bit of haze that keeps it from appearing sterile. The beer itself is a golden straw color that looks really nice.
The smell is wonderful and unlike any other Saison I've ever had. It has a mixed aroma of a smoky straw note with a citrus lemon note in the middle of it. However, the smoke note is a bit overpowering and can be hard to notice the lemon note.
The taste is also wonderful. While it still has that smokey funk and citrus lemon note, there is also a sweet grain note that comes out as well in the middle.
The feel is very good. It has a medium body with a fluffy and tingling carbonation through it all. It has a dry finish.
Overall, this was a very good Saison and one of the best I've had. It's perfectly balanced and somehow manages to hit all the right notes at the right time. Maybe it was because I was drinking this with the proper glass, but this is a definite must for anyone how enjoys Belgian beers.

Poured a 375ml caged and corked bottle into a tulip. Best before date end 2025. A massive four finger bubbly white head on a very hazy lemon. Excellent head retention. Patchy lacing.
A strong classic Saison smell. Spicy.
Fruity. Lemon in the background. Dry finish.
Light body and moderate carbonation.
An excellent Saison. True to the style. Smooth and well balanced.
