I'm glad I found this. And I'm Glad that Val-Dieu is going outside its comfort zone and trying to expand its U.S. market with more hops. But this is not yet fully as successful an ale as many others from Val-Dieu.
Starting with its Looks, Val-Dieu could be more lively. I get a solid yeast in my nose and mouth, but its foam is flaccid and barely above average. Smells display subtle fruits and some herbal hops. Tastes are balanced for a brew named Hop, but there is a metallic finish that needs work. Medium-mouthed, softness aided by the yeast.
I give very good Overall Hugs to Val-Dieu because I know they will improve this recipe.

330 ml bottle, as Val-Dieu Hop, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, moderate white head. Notes of spicy Belgian ale yeast and spicy and herbal hops. The same spicy and herbal notes in the medium dry flavour too, moderate bitterness.
