Stuff of the legends. Dressed in blacker than black, guarding our entire lineup of beers, supremely skilled in our beer craft and capable of delivering a power sensation, perhaps better than the original nitro Irish Stout. Does this Black Knight also suffer from overconfidence and a staunch refusal never to give up but keep in fighting?

Drunk at the source in October 2023.
L: Jet black with a thick, creamy, coffee-coloured head. No carbonation was visible through the inky blackness.
S: Cola, raspberry and mild cocoa, but I had to work to parse that. Will reassess as it warms. [Note from the future - more intensity in the aroma as it warmed, but no real change in the nose.]
T: Creamy, cola- and raspberry-tinged sour cocoa with a touch of coffee.
M: Smooth, as befitting a nitro beer. Drinking almost like a still beer.
O: An Irish stout will always be compared to Guinness rather than as its own creation. This one is more cola- and raspberry-oriented compared to its famous namesake and lacks any roasty and toasty notes. It's an ok stout, and its smoothness probably matches Singapore's climate, but I doubt I'd go back for a second.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
