The Original Belgian Wheat Beer. Almost 600 years ago in the Belgian village of Hoegaarden, a band of monks experimented by adding oddball botanicals from halfway around the world to their traditional wheat beer. Our recipe, inspired by their creation, is a beer with a refreshing flavor and captivating aroma, unlike any in the world. Let the refreshing citrus and earthy coriander alleviate the stresses of modern living and whisk you to another place entirely. You might call it divine inspiration... we call it Hoegaarden.

Poured from a 11.2 oz bottle into a Krosno Direction pilsner glass - poured as shown on the label, poured 2/3 into the glass, then swirled the bottle, then topped off. Freshest before 02/01/2027 (assume this is Euro dating - 2nd of Jan). The label indicates this was brewed by InBev Belgium, Hoegaarden, Belgium.
Color is a straw yellow, hazy but translucent. A lot of carbonation bubbling from the bottom of the glass. There is about a half-inch of bright white foam that settles to a thin cap that remains during the drinkdown. A few spots of lacing form here and there.
Nice aroma of lemon, orange and light spices on the nose. The aroma really up-front and pleasant.
Flavors of orange with some spice in the background, also some lemon notes. Mild bitterness, but enough to dry the palate in the finish.
Light body but not watery feeling, rather it's crisp.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one, as my favorite for the style is Allagash White. Very easy to drink but still very flavorful and a great nose on this beer.

My personal fav. It smells good, I guess it’s the coriander (which initially I thought it was Clove). It’s light and citrusy to the taste. Good summer beer but I like it all year round. I wish some pubs had it on tap.
A rare one to say the least.
It is hard to find but whenever I do somehow it sneaks into my basket.
My number 1…

One of my all time favorites. Extremely crisp and refreshing. Its unique to see a beer so cloudy but uniform and the only downside really is its a but hard to chug

Made in Vietnam.
So I bought a 500ML can from Thailand and now in the Philippines. Poured little foam and disappeared quick. Very pale color that smells of spices. Taste is what you expect. Wheat beer flavor with some citrus and spices. It's not bad at all but far from being the best witbier out there. Hoegaarden beers go for an expensive price in Asia it seems. Is it worth the price? Maybe. There isn't many options at all on anything similar. San Miguel makes a crappy witbier beer that i drank last night and that was junk. There might be a craft beer available but for now Hoegaarden is the only decent witbier here.
I bet you it'll be better in Belgium though.

BB September 19 2026. Poured @ 51degrees.
Look: Pale murky yellow with a high white head that has great retention but leaves scarce lacing.
Smell: Sweet wheat.
Taste: I get a lot of bitter citrus to counteract the sweet wheat, with just a touch of spice present.
Feel: Medium in the mouth with medium carbonation and a slightly dry finish.
Overall: An excellent, style defining brew that is an easy drinker.

I think that Hoegaarden tastes about as good as beer can. I'm a big fan of citrus in my alcoholic bev, but I think what truly takes it over the top is the "spice" the coriander brings. It's unusual for a traditionally cooking oriented spice to be so tasteful in a drink, but Hoegaarden most definitely fits that bill for me. The only knock is I am simply visually not a fan of a cloudier beer.

The best way to describe this brew is refreshment overload. It pours a beautiful and hazy color. The taste is a perfect balance of all ingredients in a highly drinkable and satisfying sip. Cheers

Pale straw in color, pleasantly opaque. Almost no aroma, not even of spice. Bready and somewhat estery, but the spiciness and orange flavors are subtle to non-existent. Mouthfeel is nice and fluffy.
