Originally brewed in honor of Camelback’s 50th anniversary (CB50), this smooth-drinking, light lager is perfect for after a day on the slopes or at the beach. Or, for any day, really. Five years after the anniversary, we re-christened this brew High Tide Lager. It then proceeded to rain for two weeks straight. Sorry about that.

On tap @West End Fair in Gilbert PA. Poured into classic plastic cup.
Look: Darker amber than average for a lager, similar to pale ales. Excellent head retention. Not much lacing, but it looks nice clinging to the plastic.
Smell: Fresh wheat, biscuit dough, touch of soapiness. Very clean and appealing, different for a lager of this type.
Taste: Heavy on malt sweetness that tastes very natural. Very restrained hop bite and basic complexity compared to the smell, but supremely well-balanced. Reminds me of a Helles.
Feel: Creamy and luxurious, perhaps a bit too heavy for a lager that lacks complexity but still a pleasant body overall.
Overall: An above-average lager for sure. Not exactly outstanding but worthy of a taste.
