L- Medium chestnut, clear, pours with 1Cm pale tan fine-bubble head, with ongoing very fine rising carbonation. The head holds up very well.
S- Some toasty malts and richness.
T- Lovely taste, a bready taste develops on the palate alongside and into a toasty note.
F- Hoppy enough to be refreshing, meaty enough (at 5.2%) to be satisfying even on a bleak winter's day. I could slow-sup a session of an evening on this beer.
O- My wife visited Cardiff and brought me back five bottles of beer, of which this is one. First off, I am quite taken aback at how fine this beer is; there is absolutely zero out of place or balance that I've noticed. On top of that, the Look, Taste + Feel all join together into a superb whole. (My sense of smell is often lousy in Winter and so, much harder for me to define!). I had this in the fridge and as I near the end it's warming a touch. I'd suggest not chilling it too hard, the malty richness opens up when the harder chill has lifted. Superb, I'd very happily drink this again.
Bought from Wally's Liquor Cellar in cental Cardiff. £3.25/500ml bottle BB: Jun-2020 Batch: L02546
