Unusually, this is a dark ESB, which I have not encountered before.
Dark brown in colour with a small, off-white head. Good lacing.
Smell consists of caramel malt, grassy hops and a bit of toasted malt. Darker colour does make itself known in the nose.
Taste has some dark caramel malt, almost toffee like. Bittering hops have a grassy, earthy taste. Malt is noticeable, a bit toasty. Pretty nice.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation.
Overall, pretty good!
