A- Served in a tulip glass, very dark brown-amber with a little ring of head around the edge of the class

S- Strong sweet coffee and caramel aromas, sweetness, light vanilla, really nice and inviting

T- Coffee bean, dark roasted malt, vanilla, not too much sweetness at all considering the aroma, finish is lightly bitter and warm, also some notes of chewy caramel

M- Very light in body, moderate to high carbonation, light dryness, alcohol warmth

O- Definitely a different brew, very strong non-traditional flavors but blended well, liking coffee is probably a plus if you order this beer, definitely worth trying, would make a good after-dinner dessert beer, not for its sweetness, but for its flavors

Thanks so much to Ratman for sharing this one with me a week or so ago at Wynkoop. Poured a clear reddish brown color with a medium tan head. Aromas of coffee, vanilla, chocolate and yeast. On the palate, this one was medium bodied and smooth, with flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla and caramel.

I’ve run into this a couple of times at Star Bar and most recently at the Wynkoop Tastes of Belgium event. I think I had at least five 4oz samples of this just because I couldn’t get enough of it.
Pours a deep brown color (unfiltered) with slight cherrywood highlights and a big white head.
The flavor profile is both straight ahead and complex at the same time. Milk chocolate, caramel, mild apple, raisins, and coffee. It’s sweet with some sips, slightly sour with others. Sometimes the coffee hits up front and other times it’s more of the malts. It reminds me a little bit of a doppelbock crossed with a dubbel mixed with just a little bit of coffee.
Not as thick as you might think, I can drink this all day.
One of the best beers I’ve had in quite some time, and there’s nothing else really like it.
I’ve become quite a fan of the Black Fox line from Bristol, and I think this is probably the best thing they’ve done yet. Very well done.

a: served in a huge snifter, the beer is a deep, murky brown in color, sporting a full two-finger deep khaki head, good retention, looks great

s: lots of carob and milky chocolate, sweet chocolate covered caramels, big and malty, delicate yeasty aromas - fruity and adding an interesting complexity, subtle roasts, mildly hopped

m: carbonation moderate, silky, the body a slick medium-full, creamy, quite nice

t: hugely malty, carob and milk chocolate with a dose of roasted bean, chocolate coated toffee, fruity yeasts give chocolate covered banana, fairly sweet but absolutely delicious, mild hop notes linger with lots of brown malt

o: described as a Belgian brown, highly unique and certainly interesting, very much enjoyable
