Look: Clear ruby with a large amount of rapidly rising carbonation bubbles. Three fingers of foamy off-white head with decent retention.

Smell: Slightly skunked citrusy hops, banana, and yeast notes.

Taste: Mild biscuity malt with a very slight bitterness on the aftertaste. Slight doughy sweetness. No noticeable hop flavor.

Mouthfeel: Full and chewy body with high carbonation.

Overall: A pretty typical marzen with nothing that stands out above the pack.

Canned on 9/17/18

Pours a deep amberish copper with a finger of off-white head; solid retention and spotty lacing left behind.

Aromas of light caramel malt and lightly toasted brown sugar upfront; breadiness strikes throughout the bouquet, adding a nice consistency.

Taste highlights dry, roasty malts with a balanced bready character, while light hints of caramel malt and brown sugar influence the roast toward the finish; understated, but a nicely done profile.

Mouthfeel shows a higher level of carbonation, a robust medium body, and a thinness in between; slight dryness on the finish.

Nice profile and solid flavor, but nothing ends up jumping out, staying more subdued than anything; unfortunately, this added the occasional inconsistency and premature thinness that really did this beer as a whole no favors.
