I am really excited by the prospect of these CT Valley smoothies & I CAN't wait to add some more CANnecticut beers to The CANQuest (tm)! My ~ first three years in the Navy were aboard the U.S.S. Fulton (AS-11) at State Pier in New London, CT & so I CAN relate.

From the CAN: "Gluten Free".

I was rather gentle with the CAN & its CANtents, but my Crack!ing open of the vent still released a fingertip spritz! Even wilder was the fact that it was a deep-purple, akin to my maternal uncle's homemade blackberry wine! I CANtinued with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass since I was clearly venturing into unknown territory. It fizzed & foamed momentarily, forming a brief, rolling, roiling finger of deep-pink/purplish head before dissipating to wisps. Color was a gorgeous Boysenberry/Plum/Jam (SRM = N/A) with NE-quality clarity! 8=O Nose smelled like the serving of Mixed Fruit jelly that they give me at the Red Robin Diner on Frankford Avenue, just down from the Grey Lodge. Nose spoke of dark fruits, like black raspberries & blueberries while my eyes registered strawberries on the label. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not terribly removed, either. The taste was very much of blueberry, followed closely by blackberry, but strawberry was still a bit of a no-show. Finish was semi-sweet & it was here that the sweetness of the strawberry beCAN to assert itself. If the previous lemonade was evocative of a children's drink, then this was its polar opposite, bringing a semi-sweet vinousness to the party throughout. It was unquestionably fruit-driven & more towards darker, richer fruits than more delicate, sweet ones. YMMV.
