On tap at brewpub. They poured this into a flared pilsener. The appearance was a thick dark brown with a slim off white level foamy head cutting the top of the glass nicely. Lacing is barely there. The smell is absolutely awesome as a delicate cocoa roams over roasty coffee and subtly adds in the strawberry to balance really nice. The taste takes the sweet to combine with the roast and add a slight bitter to balance. Light roasty aftertaste roams about into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping quality about it. Carbonation seems to run subtle but leads to no ill effect, everything seems fine. Overall, this is probably this brewpub’s best beer.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a black pour with a bar pour's kind of super slim white head.
The smell cherished the milk chocolate in a sweet sort of way opening up into the strawberry. Though some of my friends say its fake, I beg to differ as I get some of that light "tart" appeal telling me that the strawberry is real. Light roasty coffee tones round out the edges.
The taste was moderately sweet with that light tart from the strawberry coming back to balance. Roastiness from the coffee slides in underneath. It all combines nicely in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation ran nicely. The roastiness seems to hit just a tad more than the tart or sweet side. With that in mind, I'd say there was a gentle stickiness in the feel.
Overall, to me, I liked it. Vermont Pub did exactly what they said they would do with this despite some of the rumors of it being "fake strawberry." I'd have it again.
