Pours a dark brown with garnet on the edges and a thin ring of beige on top. Rich bready toasty caramel maltiness with bits of earth and ethanol to counter. Nice sipper.

Poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a ruddy dark burnt orange brown color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies off. No lacing. The aroma starts off with a sweet caramel to toffee malt. Light roast. Some toast. Some peat. Subtle smoke. The flavor rides nicely between the sweetness and the smoke. Subtle earthy dryness levels into the aftertaste and slides into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable smooth semi-sticky smokey clinginess on my tongue. Overall, pretty good scotch ale that I could have again.
