The appearance was a slight pale gold color with a wisp of a little clean white foamy head that slid off at a nice pace. Mild lace ran here and there.
The aroma had a nice melding of sweet to spicy rye, somewhat floral and coating a light biscuit-like malt and then some black pepper entered in to mesh pretty well.
The flavor lead with the floral sweetness of the rye and seemed to blend with the black pepper and spicy components. Subtle crisp little edge of some floral hops (Saaz?, I think). Aftertaste was the rye - spicy and floral with a touch of the sweet.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a hair underneath. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Rye spicy sort of finish.
Overall, pretty solid rye beer well worthy of coming back to.
