Pouured into a pint glass, the appearance was a dark red to brown color with a less than a finger?s worth of white head. Messy lace. The aroma had some burnt sugars, dried maple syrup, toast, and toffee. The flavor was basically the same adding some smoky peat, nuts, caramel and coffee. Sly blend of the flavors running into the aftertaste and sliding into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Good carbonation, mostly smooth. Overall, maple flavored scotch ale? Sure, I guess it works. I could see myself having again.
