The rye flavor comes through crystal-clear in Vermont Pub & Brewery's SomersAlt Rye! It pours a mostly clear amber body beneath a standard sized head of creamy off-white froth. The retention is good and it leaves delicate lacing about the glass. Bready, caramel-tinged malt with a gently toasty and subtly honeyish side resides in the flavor, teetering perfectly opposite somne floral and very gently spicy hops. It's remarkably well-balanced, rounded from beginning to end, and fading without notice in the finish. Only a very delicate note of soft caramel and dull malt lingers. Remarkably well done!
