Date best by April 2019:
A light burgundy color with a purplish-rose tinted small head. Medium collar with thin streaks of vertical lace.

Nose is a bit like a cherry mixed drink without the alcohol presence. There’s a little tart cherry note that comes out with a swirl, mixed with a seeming wheat note, oddly.

Taste is similar to nose, with a malt base that sneaks in before the sweet cherry/berry comes on. Just as the beer starts to get a little too sweet, the lightly fizzy carbonation keeps the near syrupy feel from getting out of hand.

So a low ABV fruit beer that isn’t a sour, this one leans a little too sweet, although there’s a very light tart balance and some decent carbonation to make it ok enough.

I bought it at the local store and frankly wasn't expecting a lot from it – and the more pleasant surprise was waiting for me when I opened it! Poured into the glass the beer turned out to be of beautiful mahogany red color with crimson highlights. This is a fruit beer; it has cherry and elderberry juice in it, so the aroma is dominated by delicious cherry blossom with slightest hints of honey and fresh yeast. The taste is remarkable: fresh and fruity, it has a perfect balance between cherry and barley malt, with a bitter cherry stone finish. Possibly some additional carbonation would have suited it better.

Fruity and lively on the palate. Fresh smell of Cherry which is appealing. Easy to drink. With golden brown head unusual for a fruity beer. Best I have had

A: Pours dark reddish brown. A tall and compact head, slightly pink in color sinks, leaving rich lacings.

S: Bready malt, not very sweet. Bitter hops and in the back (artificial) cherries and also some metallic notes. But the smell is mild. Honey.

T: Very sweet - like concentrated cherrie-lemonade. Artificial.

M: Aftertaste is short, body is medium and carbonation the same. But it leaves a sticky feel in the mouth.

O: Very artificial - like detergent or something.

500 ml bottle into Guinness pint glass in Berlin, Germany. Reviewed live.

A: Three finger dark red head of nice cream and thickness. Average (two minute) retention. Semi-transparent dark red colour.

Sm: Nothing at all. I apologize for me broken nose, but there's not even a cherry scent, as expected.

T: Cherry and other berry esters overpowering a weak barley body. Some souring hops. Not a true fruit beer in the lambic sense of expectations. Actually rather simple and bland. I wanted this to be better. It's balanced, but how difficult is it to balance two to three notes? Damnit!

Mf: Soft and smooth; wet and mildly delicate. It doesn't quite complement the notes in the body. I wish this fit the taste, but alas, it does not.

Dr: Fairly mild ABV, and a crap representation of the style, let alone cherry. The cherry note is rather artificial indeed, according to meself as well as me Berliner friend assesses. Low cost enough for getting banjaxed, but not a great beer. Try at thine own risk.

Beautiful deep red colour resembling that of berry juice. Very mild sweet smell and taste is along with the smell: Sweet, fruity and very mild taste with almost zero hops. Also very little carbination and thus foam.

Very nice distinctive beer you can surely diffrentiate from other beers at the moment you taste it. I expected a little stronger taste, but it is still something I do not regret buying. Thumbs up!

Aroma:Cherries and malt.

Appearance:Deep Red. The head is pink in color, with good retention.

Taste:Sweet cherries and sweet malt. Maraschino cherries, pomegranate. No hops at all. The fruit flavors linger pleasantly thru the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel:Light to medium body. Light carbonation.

Drinkability:This is a great sweet cherry beer, not sour at all.

This one intrigued me at the store, a cherry beer coming from a monastery, interesting. 500ml bottle, no best by date. "The taste of paradise."

Pours into my tulip a nice fuchsia/magenta red/brown with a rose pink head that dissipates slowly leaving some lacing.

It smells like someone took grape nuts and threw some dark cherries in it. It isn't like the other fruit beers I have smelled, it has a bran scent with some lightly fruity cherries.

The flavor is on the other hand pure cherry. It is sweet like the New Glarus Belgian Red, in fact this tastes alot like it. That one tasted like cherry pie, this one tastes like a cherry/grape nut mixture.

An interesting brew coming out of Germany, like New Glarus, had they toned down the sweetness a bit, it would be pretty good. If you like WI Belgian Red, you will like this, though NG did a slightly better job.

Bought at a place a short walk away from KaDeWe is West Berlin.

Pours a dark, dark red with a nice white head. Okay lacings.

Smells quite sweet but there is definately some nice dark malt back there somewhere.

Whoa that's a sweet beer. It isn't an artificial sweetness like, say, a Chapeau, but it certainly does make you pucker a little bit. However, it just takes a few minutes to adjust your expectations and then you can get used to it. It's a bit of a shame because some nice malt is covered up by the cherries. Both are sweet and the malt gets canceled out.

Fine body, nice carbonation.

An interesting beer. Haven't had too many actual German fruit beers (as opposed to those nasty mixed drinks) and am glad I had the chance to give this a shot.
