Draft at toronado, served in a small 6oz mead glass. Darker than the regular toronado 20th with a smaller head. Much more wood, oak, and fruit shine through in this blend than in the actual finished Toronado 20th brew. Still ample funk, and barnyard activity and still astringent (but less so) on the swallow and in the throat. More wood and more sharpness than the finished blend but a little less nuance and complexity probably due to the great sugar content and sweetness. Still absolutely awesome though.

08/11/07- Had on tap at the Toronado 20th Anniversary party.
Presentation- Via the tap into a tulip style glass.
Appearance- Reddish-brown in color pour. Small and lightly creamy looking head. Left light sheets of lace.
Smell- Notes of fusel alcohol, dark fruits (black cherry, plums). Smells sugary and vinous.
Taste- Hmmm, this one was yummy. Shared this glass with another BA as well as many others, so I didn't get a chance to have the entire glass. Very vinous...also tasted like there was some hard alcohol sugary notes as well. Deep cherry sryup as well as a bit of clove and cinnimon. Really elaborate.
Mouthfeel- Silky smooth with a nice sweet aftertaste. Low carbonation level.
Drinkability- Am told that this brew was part of the original batch attempt to brew the 20th Anniversary Toronado Ale that had been mixed with the final product. I'm also told by a few people that the finished product is better than this one. If that's the case, I'm damn sorry I didn't buy more than 2 bottles! Fantastic brew.
