Ah I see my compadre wrote a review for this one we went to back in 2009. Similar thoughts.
Came out yellow and light like so many of the Russian River fare. White head, pristine, virgin, 3/4". Aroma smacked heavy of the range of pine, citrus and tropical fruit, this was a rarity back then.
Taste imparted the same smells, super light toasted pale malts and that dosing of sugar really helps to dry out the mouthfeel. While I believe the '100' qualified as the ibu count, you wouldn't guess something like this was in that range, had a much softer mouthfeel and plenty of taste beyond overlysimplistic bitterness. Kept that grapefruit and crystal malt nonsense far away.

Clearing out more notes from Hopfest 09 at Brouwer's.
Typical RR appearance, lighter, yellow, straw appearance for their ipa's, leaves you wondering?
Aroma was phenomenal, that big citrus and Simcoe dry hopping aroma. Or as my cop friend said "smells like weed." Not really, but you know how it goes. Great light maybe crystal malt backbone that lets the hops dance all over it. 100 ibus, you'd never know. Just an enjoyable tongue smacking bitterness.
Hope they bring it again this year.
