Fonio with Brettanomyces

Super interesting collaboration between Russian River and Single Thread. Up front this beer presents more like a Pilsner, but has some really interesting notes - picking up on hints of barnyard funk and hay from the brett on the nose, but also getting some baking spice. That taste is bready with notes of spice, star anise, licorice, jasmine, green tea, and a very subtle funk. Overall not something I’d reach for everything - but honestly a very compelling beer and unlike anything I’ve ever had. Would love one by the fire in late December.
