With the owner, Charlie, I must have found a kindred spirit. He puts on many different ESB's. This must be the third different one I've tried in 4 too-infrequent visits. He must have an appreciation for the style.
This one is a gem. Beautiful copper color with a nice head and then a nice lacing.
Not getting too much in the way of aroma, but that's OK. My sense of smell isn't the sharpest either.
Taste is deep. Balanced. Caramel notes seem to be heading toward the toffee range.
Got through have of my second but dessert messed up the hops taste in my head. Not the beer's fault.
I had this with a hanger steak special and it seemed to go well.
