Pours amber - nice clarity - with a thin creamy head that leaves some lacing on the glass.
The smell is floral, earthy, slightly musty with a touch of toffee.
The taste is of toffee with some earthy, English hops that give it some balance, though not quite enough, IMO, leaving it rather sweet. Interesting cocoa twist in the finish.
It's fairly creamy in a firm medium body.
Overall, a fairly typical ESB, but a bit too sweet for the style.
