This beer had a light amber color and a lot of hops in the nose. The first sip came in sweet and warm with an oily smooth mouthfeel and then a burst of hops hits your palate and another citrusy sweet finish remains in the aftertaste. The warmth gives the alcohol away, but it is still easy drinking and a wonderful brew.

I tried this beer because it was recommended to me as a good Imperial Pale Ale. It was okay but not very complex. I believe they use only nugget hops. I thought the balance between bitterness and the sugars was good; a dry finish. It had good body but to me, the aroma just wasn't there.

The same person who suggested I try it said there cask conditioned version was better.

For me, I like Dogfish Head 90 minute much more than this one. While it was okay, I won't be lusting for this lupulin.

Got this growler 9 days ago while in Frederick. Beer is a dark orange with a thin but persistant white head. The aroma is pretty sweet for an double IPA, almost apricotty. Very little hops scent. The taste makes up for this with a huge blast of hops up front, a nice malty backbone, and then a pleasant lingering hop bitterness. This is a full bodied beer with good carbonation, even after being stored, and a somewhat oily feel. For fans of hops, this is a great beer---get it while you can.
