Served in a Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.
According to the glory that is Google Translate, this thing is named "Two Kids"...and there's a picture of two young goats on the can. You know as well as I that the Original Kvass Kick enjoys a pun as much as the next jag, so yippy for this can. The liquid within pours a hazy russet-amber topped by a half-finger of darkly off-white foam. The nose comprises fennel, rye bread, honey, light maple syrup, wheat bread, and a pinch of black pepper and garlic. Man, this stuff be bready, yo! The taste holds notes of root beer, light maple syrup, fennel, rye bread, light brown sugar, and decidedly sweet lemonade coming up from the base in a small rivulet. For once, the lemonade seems kinda outta place. Can't really explain why, it just does. The body is a light medium, with a lightly fizzy carbonation and that slimily slick feel that seems to accompany most kvasses stateside. Overall, not a bad kvass at all. Not sure why, but I think I had lower-than-usual expectations for this one, and they were surpassed. There's plenty o' bread character in here, boyos...
