A: Brown color with red hues, 2 cm off-white and uneven head. Some lacings.
S: Good balance between malts and hops. Fruity hop aromas (oranges), grass. Caramel, chocolate powder, fudge, toast.
T: Pretty big malt character - caramel, toast, chocolate notes. Grassy and floral hops, citric notes, raisins. Brown sugar. The bitterness in the finish is very pleasant. Some light spices, hop resins, dough and bread in the finish as well.
M: Moderate body, medium level of carbonation. It lacks some body in the finish.
D: A good beer, but nothing spectacular. The balance between malts and hops was very good. All in all, the beer almost seems like a good attempt that didn't really make it all the way.

The colour is deep amber-brown; the finger thick head is compact and beige. It leaves some fine lacing.
The smell is sweet and a bit fruity with notes of caramel and toffee. Apricots, dark bread and a fresh spicy hint blend with the woody house-flavour of Nils Oscar.
The taste is malty with sweet notes of brown sugar and matured cheese. A fine bitterness emerges together with a lightly roasted flavour of rye bread, it is almost full bodied. The aftertaste got mild citric notes, some minerals and yeast-dough. The finish got a touch of fresh wood.
The carbonation is mild, the liquid smooth.
A somewhat demanding and complex ale. Will it suite the Easter dishes? I don't know.
