22oz. bomber: this one pours an opaque brown color. There was a thin tan head that left some lacing. A good malty nose, with some nuttiness and roasted malts. The taste is good, Somewhat bitter with a sweetness in the finish. Roastiness, chocolate and some earthy hops. Nice.

Poured from bomber to chalice, best buy 3/28/17 (whoops)
Darkest brown with well over a half inch of fluffy tan foam
I'm getting more roasty, malty than hoppy, which makes sense given I shouldve consume this 2 months ago
Starts nice, getting the roasty malt and the molasses. Hop bite on the finish
Its not thin, but I'd have expected a little "more" given it is imperial and 9%. A little cloying
Nice beer, glad I tried it.

Appearance: pours a dark brown color with a 1" head.
Smell: roasted tones and chocolate are most detectable.
Taste: roasted malts, citrus, bitter dark chocolate, pumpernickel bread, brown sugar, some dark fruits, and a decent bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden here.
Mouthfeel: heavy in body. Light crispness to start, smoother at the finish. Long lasting aftertaste here.
Overall: a very enjoyable big beer that is slow sipping but extremely satisfying.

L: pours brilliant chestnut. Bubbles rise moderately fast to support a rich, rocky 2" light tan foam cap with good retention. In the light this is a stunningly beautiful beer.
S: medium aroma with resin, floral, berry and citrus hops leading, joined by light chocolate, nuts, a hint of brown sugar, a light malty sweetness and a trace of alcohol. The fermentation character is fairly clean.
T: dark semi-sweet chocolate, plum, light fruit, cherry, berry, nuts, and hints of cola balanced by a medium high hop bitterness. When joined by the malt the bitterness is more of a dark chocolate bitterness than a citrus rind bitterness. Everything is in balance with no burnt or harsh roast flavors. The alcohol is smooth and warming with no hot or harsh character.
F: The beer is delightfully creamy with a medium to medium full body and medium, soft carbonation.
O: This very well thought out and well composed beer is a delight to drink.

Medium brown ale with brilliant red highlights and extensive lacing.
The nose expresses malt over hops, with a spicy addition of molasses.
Citrus hop flavor comes through in the mouth, with a bitter finish that amplifies the molasses aromas.
Rich and deeply satisfying.

22 0z. bottle, best by March 2017
poured into pint glass
Appearance- Deep brown, almost black and mostly opaque. 1 1/2" of lasting khaki head with good lacing.
Smell- Light aroma of fresh hops and pine with a hint of malt or maybe the molasses.
Taste- Hoppy, though I'd say less so than a standard IPA. A little bitter and slightly sweet with a hoppy finish. The 9% ABV is fairly well hidden.
Mouth feel- Somewhere between medium and heavy bodied. Smooth, a bit creamy and not over carbonated.
Overall- Interesting cross between IPA and Brown Ale. An enjoyable sipping beer.
While I do not know how much or how well Heavy Seas and Stone worked together on this, the idea of camaraderie between brewers added to the experience.

Poured a brown body with minimal head and minor lace ring. Hoppy aroma with minimal roasted malts tucked in there. Hops are dry, bitter and citrusy but not overpowering as this mild malt sweetness lies beneath and good balance and clean finish.

1 PT 6 FL OZ bottle
Served in a Stone tulip glass
This beer pours a deep rust color with ruby highlights. It is topped with several inches of tan head that leaves plenty of lacing.
The smell is citrus and cocoa.
The taste starts out with citrus. Then the chocolate and cocoa notes come through the middle. It finish with grapefruit and is slightly bitter.
Medium to full mouthfeel
They took a delicious brown ale and added the citrus aspect of an IPA. It works well. It is a very good beer.
