Born in our 15bbl brewhouse in 2020, Chocolate Volcano is the newest year round offering. This full-bodied imperial stout pours an opaque, deep mahogany color with a fluffy tan head. The nose is dominated by intense chocolate and hints of roasted coffee beans.
Chocolate Volcano blasts your tongue with a lava flow of velvety richness. Brewed with imported cocoa powder and cocoa nibs and overflowing with decadent chocolate flavor, you better take cover, Chocolate Volcano erupts all year.

5 oz pour on draft at the brewery. This is pretty much as advertised, but with an unfortunate slight sour note. Chocolate, dark roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, yes...but that sour metallic twinge. Not enough to ruin the beer, but enough to take it down a notch or two. YMMV.

L: Pours a thick, rich brown, forming a thin tan head that is quick to fade. A thin film of retention remains on the top, with a nice ring of khaki lacing around the edge of the snifter. Held to the light, this beer has a nutty carob hue.
S: Loads of chocolate and roasted malt. A hint of vanilla.
T: Chocolate and malt-forward. Rich and roasty, with a hint of milk and caramel.
F: Medium-bodied, a bit thin. Sticky, creamy mouthfeel. Moderate levels of carbonation.
O: Good, not great stout. A little thinner than hoped.

Pours a deep dark opaque brown with a thick fluffy tan head that goes away too soon like a spring day. Smells like a chocolate lollypop dipped into a cup of strong black coffee. Tastes also of chocolate and coffee with a comfortable bitterness that caresses your tongue. The mouth feel is nice and thick and smooth. Overall a good example of an American stout. I will buy this one again!

From the bottle, it pours a possibly hazy very dark brown color with a light brown head that slowly reduces. The nose gets definite chocolate and roasted malts. The mouth gets roasted malts, chocolate and some yeastiness. Mild bitter chocolate aftertaste.

Tasted on tap at The Craft Bar in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This was a delicious stout with wonderful chocolate notes in the aroma and flavors. Great depth of flavor without being too thick or cloying.

12 oz bottle served in a Porter Bar goblet.
I was prepared for this"dessert stout" to be rather sweet. It's not. It is a mainstream, hoppy American Stout with lots of medium and dark chocolate. It does look and feel like I expected, with its full smooth body and light carbonation.

I really don't want to think about a volcano of chocolate, but this chocolate stout is really hitting the spot.
It pours black and stouty. The aroma is dark and malty. Not so much boozy or chocolate but a nice blend. The taste is smooth and balanced - not a volcano, a lovely little .... torrent. It rocks.
Highly recommended. This is a great value as well. I will seek out more. It should sit well for months.

12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter.
Not bad, chocolate roast and vanilla aroma and flavor, smooth and creamy but it has a bit of a tongue numbing feel. Tastes more like a traditional imperial stout than a big chocolatey dessert stout.

12 ounce bottle, thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! I've had it a while. Bottled on Julian date of 21244 (September 1, 2021), best by date of JUN2422 stamped on the label. Let's see how this one held up! Served in a Teku, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit and some roasted malt. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark bread and coffee flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Maybe I should have drank this one fresher, I'll have to try this one again in the future to make sure. Worth a try if you can get a single somewhere!

Honestly I just don't find this very chocolate heavy. It's supposed to be dominated by it but idk. For me this just isn't enough. Decent enough but just not the best chocolate forward stout I've found.
