Poured from the bottle into a nonic(k) pint glass.
Creamy topped, with a three finger height of dark mocha brown, with egg like thickness head. Dark walnut reddish brown, hinting almost truly black as can be. Great aggressive looking dark brew.
Excellent nose as well. Deep notes of milk and dark chocolate, a hint of fudge, and some whiskey like heat that is just poking out. There's even a touch of salty peanut like character which is real neat as well on the aroma.
Palate is quite impressive. Deep notes of peanut butter and dark chocolate. Silky touching mouthfeel with a nice hint of heat and nougat like sweetness. Lacks a little bit of barrel character but gives plenty of boozy controled warmth.
This a really nice simple barrel aged brew, which has some nice base and slightly accentuated flavors in a very controlled high abv.
