Coming in a 275ml slim brown bottle, purchased at just 39p in a local offie, and it seems to be reduced to clear as the expiration date (NOV 07) has already passed… served cool in a half-pint straight glass.

A: dark amber, clear, a thin off-white foamy head settles to a rim, on top of very light fizzy body.
S: syrupy sugar and boiled barley candy, some pickled plums, underlined by semi-stinky hay-ish and sulphurous hints of hops and yeastiness. Very simple and very malty, but not unpleasant.
T: semi-sharp in texture upfront, but soon the burned-sugary malts develop with an overwhelming wave of rough, even chewy, bitterness with some acidity and hay-ish aroma… the unmistakable sulphurous yeastiness also brings quite an amount of bitterness to the overall taste, and prolonged the dryish palate in the end.
M&D: despite the slightly sharp fizziness upfront, the overall mouthfeel remains light, whereas the sharp bitterness from hops and yeasts provides some additional excitement to this otherwise boring strong bitter.
