weird backyard bucket type wild ale here, with a crazy complexion of brett strains that is beyond odd. its really funky in a fruited beer like this one, which i think has mango and papaya in it. its oaky but still light, pinkish orange in color, hazy and still, with one of the weirdest aromatic funks out there. there is a spice with the fruitiness, maybe clove, but maybe its a yeast ester thing. so much going on here, really unlike others. when you cut open some of those tropical fruits sometimes they dont smell all that appealing. baby poop and feet have been used to describe these fruits, and i get a little strange odor, which gets overly bizarre with the bretts that are so intense, but i like this beer overall, admire its boldness, and certainly think its one that cant be done again. more like a happy accident or successful one off than something these guys are likely to continue to do, although i would be happy if i was wrong and this became a staple in what they do. definitely not for the faint of wild!
