For this one, we used Columbus and Nugget for first wort hops, then Goldings and Nugget at 30 minutes, Goldings and Nugget again at 5 minutes left in the boil, and then Goldings for dry-hopping.

Thanks to Cavie for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours an golden-orange color with a white head. The aroma is heavy on the orange citrus notes with some bread and biscuit malt notes. The flavor is more complex than the aroma. I get a lot of orange notes, but I also get some pine and a little bit of resin. The bread and biscuit malt are present and keep the bitterness fairly low, while still letting the hop flavors come through. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

12 oz twist off bottle. Thanks Jeff.
Pours a dark clear caramel amber with a massive rocky light khaki head. Extremely retentive and leaves behind thick clumps of lacing. Pine hops lead the nose with a strong caramel malt backbone. Medium thick body with light carbonation. The finish lingers with dry, resiny pine bitterness. Hops are a little faded throughout the body at this point but the beer is still very bitter and pulpy. An average IPA, I'm guessing not the best of this series.

Poured a deep amber with a big thick white sticky lacey and frothy head. Great retention lead to a thin layer of lace left up on the top. Very nice residual lacing down the sides and great carbonation evident from the streaming bubbles.
Crisp clean hops. Notes of pine and light citrus, not overpowering, but very clean and fresh. Deep bitterness hits immediatly. Very nice blend of flavors here. Lots of pine and a thick malt back. You can taste the earthy grain flavors all the way. Very well rounded. Nice dry finish. Touch of grapefruit or pineapple as it warms. Very smooth. A Thick IPA, not the thin taste. Not oily, however there is a touch of resin in it. Good carbonation lets the flavor roll accross the tongue. Not too heavy that it will fill you up too quick, but not that light as water feeling either.
Overall I really liked this and was very glad it was as good as I had hoped.

I got this in a recent trade thanks to grownfool, appreciate it! Orange, darkish color, looks a lot like the two previous Hop Project beers I had. Smell is uneventful, earthy, so sad. The flavor also left a lot to be desired. The last Hop Project beers I had were both quite intriguing and sadly this was just boring as far as the hops were concerned. oh, well, hopefully I get to try more of this crazy series.

Bottled 4th wk aug 2010.
A. Pours golden with one finger creamy tan head.
S. Some pine and citrus with some caramel malt.
T. Caramel malt backbone with citrus hops and some fruity esters. Bitterness comes through more on the swallow, but still rather mild for an IPA.
M. Thin side of medium with a fairly high carbonation.
D. While a decent beer, it seems to be more a pale ale than an IPA. Not terrible, but eh.

Appearance- hazy and tawny...
Smell- smells piny and hoppy
Taste- piny and a bit too bitter lacking the hop kick I like...
Mouthfeel- just fairly average
Drinkability- smooth and drinkable but wholly unremarkable
Overall, not anything to write home about

12oz bottled 4th week of August 2010.
Pours semi-hazy orange/amber with a large foamy and rocky orange-white head that wants to stick around forever and leaves multiple rings of lacing.
Aroma is earthy, grassy, pine & floral hops, along with some citrus. Moderate strength.
Flavor is resinous hops, pine, earth, some citrus rind, good bitterness, only a touch of malt sweetness for balance. Finishes dry with some lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel is oily and slick, a bit sticky, medium body, medium carbonation.
My first Hop Project and I'm quite enjoying this one. Lookin' forward to trying #34.

Poured into my SA Perfect Pint...
Pours a light golden with an impressive head that never fully disappears... lots of active carbonation...
Aromas of citrusy hops waft off of this one.. Not super pungent but nice and steady...comparable to recent Hop Projects but not to the elite of the style...
Bitter bracing hoppiness greets the palate and has this one rolling off of the bat... Lots of hop presence with a slight malt backbone..
Overall a nice little brew..
