Between 2 visits here to the brewpub, on 23 and 25SEP11, I had five 0.5l glasses of this special anniversary bier, at €2.50 per glass.
This bier was a medium copper color, with a slight touch of haze within. A frothy, rocky, off-white head crowned things, lasting well with nice stick. Nose had some toasty malts and the requisite rauch aroma. Quite smooth on the tongue, it checked in with a medium body as well.
Flavor? Toasty malts were present here, too, with a noticeable but not overpowering smoke presence. Good, light malty sweetness coated the palate, with a subtle floral hop kick at the end, where the finish was quite dry. Verry drinkable, and a solid accompaniment to a tasty cordon bleu while chatting with some locals. Prosit!!
