A - Hazy dark golden colour bordering on orange. A few centimetres of off white head that slowly falls away. A touch of lace down the glass.
S - Quite a unique aroma of tart apples, pepper spice & light pale malt. Oak notes come through as it warms & there is a slight brett character.
T - Light apple & citrus fruit hints give way to a light malt presence and quite a dominant oakiness. A touch of farmhouse/barnyard brett is also noticeable in the taste.
M - Lighter side of medium bodied with a fairly high carbonation that tickles the tongue.
A - A very nice, interesting & unique Saison. The barrel aging certainly is not traditional but adds an extra dimension. At 4.3% it's a very flavoursome & sessionable beer.
