So last week when passing thru and stopping at the Zaragosa station on my way to Madrid, I have my first Ambar from what I thought was a micro. Their website conveys all the family-owned for several generations feel that provides freshness and quality for a local market. Then on my way back through going north to France, I see next to the tracks huge lagering tanks and supportive buildings; thinking to myself, "Is this a Heineken plant?" Then on one of the building, the Ambar sign pops up. Imagine my surprise.
But I had Sin Filtrar in my bag and now was as good a time as any to use it to down snacks. And 1900 was as good as it needed to be. It did taste fresh and balanced with three hop varietals at 25 IBU, which is usually still a table ale in my book. And at 14 EBC, it had a nice touch of amber blonde. Refresca !
